About the Owner
My name is Erica. I started this company because I want to provide a convenient resource for my local community to be able to shop with the planet in mind.
I’ve always been very conscious about how my consumption impacts the planet, and I developed this almost “obsession” with reusing items, reducing waste, and finding the most efficient approach for a task. This led me to study Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida (Go Gators!). Most of the curriculum involved creating solutions for complex problems that reduce cost and waste, while keeping quality high - l loved it!
When I became a homeowner in 2019, I looked up every eco-friendly “hack” to make my home as waste-free and cruelty-free as possible. While it was really fun to learn all of the awesome compostable and non-plastic swaps, I found the process quite overwhelming and inconvenient. Since most options were not local, I couldn’t smell the detergent I was ordering, or feel the compostable sponge for durability, and I still found myself making an emergency run to the grocery store for more dish soap in yet ANOTHER plastic bottle. I knew that I couldn’t be the only person in my community with this experience, so The Good Goods was born!
I have carefully curated a collection of high-quality, non-toxic, cruelty-free household and personal care goods that are used in the homes of myself, my friends, and my family, and I am excited to share them with you! My journey has only just begun and I still have a lot to learn, so I can’t wait to receive input from my fellow earth-conscious neighbors and expand our collection.
